God’s Word is powerful to miraculously change lives!
In Romans 12:2 we read, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
God is using Precept Ministries to help people to discover Truth for themselves. As people get into His Word the impact it has on their lives is priceless!
Jim openly shares how God and His Word helped to radically change his life:
“Just a little over twenty years ago I was a poker dealer in Las Vegas. I was heavily involved in homosexual sin, and I was addicted to crack cocaine. Even with all this in my life, I thought I had the world by the tail. I categorized Christians as superstitious hillbillies.
One Sunday God in His mercy led me to walk into a neighborhood church, and within five minutes I knew I was finally home. A couple of days later, I sought out a pastor, and with his help, I asked Jesus to be the Lord of my life. I surrendered everything.
Over the years I had many exhilarating triumphs as well as heartbreaking failures. I learned early on in my Christian walk to cling to God and His Word.
One thing I clung to was the passage in Philippians, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
He humbled me and began breaking my pride. I had a desire to learn to study the Bible and God answered my prayers.
I remember going to my first Precept Training Workshop. Early in the workshop we did a very simple exercise of marking references to Paul. Then we simply wrote down the things we learned about Paul. I could not get over all that I learned by simply utilizing just that one technique.
After the Training Workshop I could not wait to study every book of the Bible! I also love to teach Precept Bible Studies. What a joy it is to be able to truly know how to study God’s Word and then to teach others.
I am forever indebted to Precept Ministries for teaching me to study the Bible inductively so that I can mine the Truth for myself!”
