I miss my dad. Especially now, with Christmas around the corner. At this time last year, we were pretty sure that if Dad made it through the holidays, it would be his last time to celebrate with us here on earth. He passed shortly after Christmas.
If your dad has passed, you probably know how I feel. It’s hard, but I’m so grateful for the legacy Dad left.
I see his handiwork in the buildings on our campus in Chattanooga. This year, for the first time, I visited the training center he built in Romania.
Tears filled my eyes as I witnessed students and leaders from all over the globe being equipped to establish people in God’s Word.
And then I thought of you.
If Dad were here today, he would want to call you on the phone and thank you personally for helping lay such a solid foundation for ministry! And in his next breath he would have shared the incredible things God is doing through you—like what I heard about from my new friend, Peter, who I met on my trip.
Peter was a violent criminal who was rescued by the Gospel while in a Romanian prison. Now Peter works in prisons all over Romania—at the request of the government! Precept supplies Peter with much needed materials, training and even leaders who can come to the prisons with Inductive Bible Studies.
I had the privilege of visiting a prison with Peter and leading our 40-Minute Study Making Choices You Won’t Regret.
The hunger for truth was palpable in the room. The response was overwhelming as Peter invited the men to stand, repent and pray for salvation! I wish you could have been there with me to witness it. And, in a way, you were.
Your faithful prayers and financial
support put me in that room!
Friend, your prayers and financial support make you a vital part of Precept. I’m convinced God raised you up to be our fellow laborer—and we appreciate you! But we also need your help. The end of the year is approaching. And in order to do all that God is calling us to do in the new year, we must finish financially strong. Will you prayerfully consider sending a gift?
Your gift this month will help us continue to empower Peter and others like him. You’ll help provide the resources and training they need to be able to reach those whom society has forgotten . . . but our heavenly Father has not.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be telling you more about some of these outreaches—and the incredible opportunities God has provided for next year.
But there’s an even more important reason to give today. When you give generously, God is honored.
Listen to what Paul says about giving in 2 Corinthians 9:12:
“For the ministry of this service (giving) is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.”
When we join together in giving generously to God’s work, people with great needs are supplied and God is showered with thanksgiving. Why is this? Because the very act of giving is a gift from God. Just like we sing in the age-old doxology: “Praise God from Whom all blessings flow . . .”
I invite you to give today as He has given to you.
I pray you will join me in building up the church of our Lord all around His world.
Opportunities are all around us.
Hungry hearts cry out for the truth.
Let’s answer their cries. Together, let’s raise up more men and women to faithfully understand and teach His Word. Out of thanksgiving to God for our blessings, let’s supply the needs of the saints!
