Responding to COVID-19
The situation around COVID-19 in the United States is rapidly evolving. Safety is on everyone’s mind, and Precept wants to protect you, our community, and our staff from unnecessary risk.
In the interest of caution and care, we have decided to adjust, postpone, or cancel many of our spring events. We will update this list as additional changes become necessary.
- The Spring Women’s Conference will shift from a live event to webcast only.
- We are canceling the March Precept Upon Precept Leader Training in Chattanooga.
- The weekly on-campus Bible studies are suspended until further notice.
- We are canceling the Spring Study Program in April.
- Across the country, Leader Training events during March and April are canceled.
- The 2020 Holy Land Tour is unchanged, pending further developments.
- The Chattanooga campus is closed to outside visitors until further notice.
Precept is now operating remotely. While we will continue to do everything we can to serve you, there may be delays or interruptions in our ability to process checks (incoming and outgoing), fulfill orders, and respond to phone calls.
Precept needs your financial support now more than ever. If you choose to give, we encourage you to give online to avoid potential delays receiving and processing your check.
We will continue to monitor the situation and inform you if any additional changes are necessary. We are sincerely sorry to miss studying God’s Word with you through conferences, trainings, and on-campus studies, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you were attending an event that is now canceled, someone from the Precept team will be contacting you personally to share details about refunds or options for rescheduling.
It can be hard to watch the news and not feel anxiety and fear about the coronavirus, but we want to encourage you to pray and remain firmly grounded in God’s Word. In our on-campus studies last week, we saw how Nehemiah encouraged the Israelites to place their confidence and trust in the Lord, no matter what threats came against them: “Do not be afraid of them; remember the Lord, who is great and awesome…” (Nehemiah 4:14, ESV).
Many around you are or soon will be struggling with fear and anxiety as their sense of security is upended. Take this opportunity to seek God’s glory as you minister in love to family members, neighbors, coworkers, and strangers.
We do not take this virus or the damage it may cause lightly, but we have confidence knowing that nothing about this has caught our Lord by surprise. The team at Precept is praying for you, our leaders, and our nation, and we ask you to join us as we set our minds and eyes on our God and place our trust in Him.
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD God is an everlasting rock” (Isaiah 26:3–4, ESV).
