The holidays are over. Life is getting “normal” again. The new year is upon us, and the busyness of everyday life will again take over. The calendar is filling up: work, school, church . . . and you may be feeling pressed from all sides.
Jesus knows that same feeling.
In the Gospel of Mark, we read of some very busy days of ministry with Jesus. He was pressed from all sides with folks needing healing or deliverance. Everyone was looking for Him.
Read Mark 1:35 in its context of busy, packed-full-of-ministry days—“And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.”
Jesus knew that to be effective He needed quiet time
alone with His heavenly Father!
The same is true for you.
These are hard times. People desperately need to hear from the Lord. Our culture is crying out with questions and confusion about how to live in this crazy and evil world!
