It has been said that a trip to India is an assault to your senses. Everywhere you go in this nation of 1.25 billion people you see, taste and smell its rich culture. Yet millions live in a cycle of poverty and hopelessness. With a caste system that degrades people and makes them think they are worthless, many feel they have no hope.
Over 250 million Indians live on less than $1.25 per day, struggling to even survive. Lack of sound Biblical teaching and training in the Church means people will be carried away by false doctrines and accept heresy as truth
Many organizations in India focus on evangelism with large numbers of people accepting Jesus, but there remains a great need for discipleship after they have received Christ. Many new converts have a shallow understanding of Christian doctrines and they fall away from the faith when they are faced with difficulties or they become entangled in false doctrines and teachings.
Precept’s program in India teaches basic inductive Bible study skills by providing tools and training so people are empowered to know Truth for themselves. The result is lives being transformed.
By working through indigenous groups in India, our team is able to efficiently and effectively provide the resources and training needed to help this hurting nation. Many pastors attend our seminars and are excited when they learn to study God’s Word line by line, precept upon precept. Leaders learn the inductive method of Bible study and begin classes with other students using our 40-minute Bible studies. Each 40-minute study has 6 weekly lessons that can be used in a cell group or house church.
Through the principles of Observation, Interpretation and Application, each student is asked questions on the topic of study. Students use only Scripture as their reference so their Biblical knowledge will grow with each study completed, allowing them to view the world from a Biblical perspective.
