James Harris

Following more than 30 years in the shopping center and commercial real estate industry, Jim was called into ministry in 2012 to join the Pastoral staff at Cornerstone Community Church in Wildomar, California where he served until retiring in 2015.

Jim’s initial responsibility was to build a small groups ministry, however within the first two years he took the lead in overseeing Women’s and Men’s Ministry, Senior Ministry, Venue Pastor for the Alternative service for Seniors, Pastoral Care Ministry and was selected to serve as a Director to help chart the future for Cornerstone.  Over the past two decades he has held numerous leadership roles at various churches, and has served as a Chaplain, been active in worship and drama productions, and partnered with his wife, Shelly, to teach premarital classes and establish a new ministry called Destinations for empty nesters and baby boomers.

Today, Jim still serves in a lay Pastor capacity, officiating memorials and weddings and frequently opens the Sunday alternative Senior service, with Pastoral prayer, communion and offering.

His business and leadership skills were developed while employed as a VP and Asset Manager for multiple regional shopping centers in numerous states.  Jim was responsible for all Operations, Finance/Accounting, Physical Plant, Marketing/Promotions and approval of Leasing transactions. While in Las Vegas, Jim was responsible for over $2.5 billion in assets and several hundred million in net cash flow.  He has directly managed teams of 80-100 employees, plus contracted service employees in excess of 500.

Prior to joining the Board of Directors for Precept Ministries International, Jim served as their Interim Executive Director from April 2017 thru October 2017.

Jim and Shelly have been married for 35 years, have two wonderful children and four grandchildren.  They currently reside in Murrieta California.
