According to Gallup only about one-third of Americans today believe the Bible is absolutely accurate and that it should be taken literally word for word.  And about one in five Americans believes the Bible is an ancient book of “fables, legends, history, and moral precepts recorded by man.”

John Hubbach was one who not only didn’t believe the Bible was true, he despised it! But God changed John’s heart. Read how John’s life was dramatically transformed.

“I had successfully suppressed the Truth about God found in the Bible for the first 32 years of my life. I thought I was good as most people. If there was a heaven, which I doubted, I believed I would probably get in since God who I doubted even existed, graded on a curve. I certainly didn’t think that I needed religion to make me a better person.

I really wasn’t pursuing God. If fact, I despised the Bible and its message! I also mocked those who said they believed it.

I was trained for 21 years to be a dentist, in science, in evolution, and I concluded that if the first book of the Bible wasn’t true, then why should I believe the rest of it?

How did God get my attention? He pursued me! Through several people that I respected, I heard a few Bible verses that challenged me and pierced my heart deeply. For the first time in my life I didn’t reject the message. The verses were all from Romans and John’s Gospel. I was shocked to hear, there are none righteous, none who seek God, and none who do good (Romans 3:9-12).

I remember thinking, ‘Who goes to church?’ These verses challenged me enough that I wanted to hear a few more. I heard, “All have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). This verse actually made sense to me. If there is a God, of course none of us could match His glory.

Well praise God, I got saved! But now I had a real problem. If the Bible is true, what do I do with chapters one and two of Genesis? Remember, I was trained to believe that evolution was true. This is when my Bible study began. I got into the Word of God to know God! I wanted to know the God of the Word and the Creator of the universe.
